Potty Training and Conversations

Reese is officially potty trained. It has been about a month now that we can say that. We have the school to thank for the potty training. She kept telling me that she was not a big girl, she is a baby and I thought that she would never be potty trained. But, the school kept sending her home in big girl underwear and before long, she was telling us when she had to go to the restroom.

Reese also prefers boys underwear. When I cleaned out Riley's underwear drawer, Reese took all of his old underwear to her room. Since her favorite character is Diego and Diego only comes in boys, we also had to buy some boys underwear for Reese.

Reese is also really good about holding her potty. We were coming home from Maine, and we were stuck in traffic. I told Reese to just go in her diaper, and I would change her. She would not do it; she waited until we got home.

The only time we do use a diaper is at night since Reese still goes to bed with a cup of milk.

Last night, after Reese went to her room crying and I went in after her, I had a conversation with Reese that went like this: "Why are you sitting in your room in the dark?".
Reese answered, "Because Daddy hurt my feelings".

Today, after Reese asked for a brownie and I told her she had to eat some ham or turkey first, Reese said, "Can I have some turkey? Turkey Sandwich, it is yummy." Then, after I asked her whether she wanted one piece of bread or two and showed her the sandwich with the turkey on top, she said, "Cover it, Mommy".

I love that Reese is potty trained and can have these wonderful conversations!
